India's First Postgraduate Certification Program in Smart Manufacturing

About The Course

NIFFT started offering a one-year online Post Graduate Certificate course in Smart Manufacturing to upskill fresh graduate students and working industry professionals in advanced ITC enabled cutting-edge manufacturing technologies in line with Industry 4.0. The teaching is offered by eminent subject experts from Industry and Academia. The course is being managed using the dedicated learning management system platform. The live interactive classes use the Microsoft team, and recorded videos on LMS assist students with self-paced learning.

 

The first batch of PGCSM program was offered only to the NIFFT alumni, which is started in September 2021. The open application call for the 2nd batch is announcing shortly.

We herald the new millennium in an era of unforeseen challenges to the Indian Manufacturing Industries. As we gear up to compete with the best in the world, acquisition of knowledge and competencies will hold the key to survival in future. The contribution of the Foundry and Forge industries will go a long way in helping the Indian industries in keeping pace with the evolutionary changes, predicted in the near future. With the advent of automation and computer –numerically controlled machines in the manufacturing and metallurgical sector, NIFFT too broadened its initial objectives of Post Graduate certification  Courses (PGCSM) .I am confident that these programs will continue to groom better engineers and specialists who will delineate the future.

 

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

The National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (commonly referred to as NIFFT) is a public engineering and research institution in Ranchi.

It was established in 1966 by the Government of India in collaboration with UNDP - UNESCO to provide qualified engineers and specialists for running foundry and forge industries. It is an autonomous and Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI) by Ministry of Human Resource Development(MHRD), Government of India.

The institute offers postdoctoral, doctoral and master's program at the graduate level and bachelor's program and advanced diploma courses at the undergraduate level. The objectives of the institute have broadened to meet the present need of the industries, with the introduction of departments of Manufacturing Engineering in 1985 and Materials and Metallurgical Engineering in 1998.

NIFFT has the following five departments:
